Dr. Russo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Primary Care at New England College of Optometry (NECO). She is also an Attending Optometrist at New England College of Optometry (NECO) Center for Eye Care Roslindale, where she enjoys providing primary eye care services to the community.
Dr. Russo received her Bachelor of Science from Quinnipiac University in 2006. She went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry from SUNY State College of Optometry in 2010, followed by a residency in Primary Care and Low Vision at the West Haven VA Medical Center. In 2010, she was named one of Vision Monday’s Most Influential Women in Optical and received the Morton L. Kimmelman Award for Student Leadership in Organized Optometry.
She spent a year in corporate optometric practice outside Washington, DC before moving to Massachusetts in 2012. Prior to her appointment at NECO, she was an Assistant Professor and Chief of Vision Rehabilitation at MCPHS University School of Optometry, with clinical and didactic teaching responsibilities.
Dr. Russo has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry since 2012. She is also an active member of the American Optometric Association, serving on the Health Promotions Committee. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard School of Public Health.
