New England College of Optometry (NECO) Center for Eye Care is pleased to announce the opening of the new Myopia Control Clinic (MCC) at our Commonwealth location. As instances of myopia (nearsightedness) continue to rise, the Myopia Control Clinic offers several research-based treatments for slowing myopia. Treatments include specially designed glasses and contact lenses, as well as eye drops.
New England College of Optometry has been a leader in myopia research for over twenty years. The Myopia Control Clinic allows our clinical faculty and eye doctors to apply the latest findings in myopia research to new treatments for nearsighted children and young adults.
Fuensanta Vera-Diaz, OD, PhD, FAAO, one of the MCC eye care providers explains, “At NECO Center for Eye Care, we strive to practice evidence-based eye care. We understand the importance of rigorous measurements with new technology. As both a clinician and a scientist who has dedicated her professional career to myopia, I am excited about applying the latest scientific evidence to treatments for controlling myopia in our patients.”
