Dr. Williams joined the NECO faculty in the fall of 2019 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Specialty and Advanced Care. Her area of expertise is Pediatric Optometry. She is the instructor of record for the Development, Strabismus and Amblyopia Course. In addition, she is a lab instructor for Binocular & Accommodative Anomalies. Dr. Williams is an attending optometrist at the NECO Center for Eye Care in the Specialty Care Department where she provides pediatric eye care and vision therapy. She also works with first year NECO students providing vision screening at local Boston schools and Head Start Programs in the Pediatric Outreach Screening Program.
Dr. Williams earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Wesleyan University (Middletown, CT) in 2012. She went on to pursue her Doctor of Optometry degree from New England College of Optometry. Dr. Williams was a member of the inaugural class of NECO’s Pediatric Concentration Program. Dr. Williams is the recipient of the New England College of Optometry Leadership Scholarship and the 2018 Good-Lite Pediatric Equipment Award. After receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree, Dr. Williams went on to complete a residency in Pediatric Optometry from New England College of Optometry
Her research interests include pediatric vision screening in children, hyperopia in preschoolers, and media use in children.
