Myopia Control Clinic

What Is the Myopia Control Clinic?

The Myopia Control Clinic at the NECO Center for Eye Care is a evidence-based treatment program for myopia, or nearsightedness, located at our Commonwealth location. As instances of myopia are on the rise, the treatments offered at our specialty clinic seek to slow or even stop the progression of myopia in children. Our doctors use the latest research-based treatment options for controlling myopia. These treatments control myopia by affecting the eye growth underlaying the condition.

The Myopia Control Clinic offers four evidence-based treatments developed in the last decade and based on ample scientific evidence that has shown to be effective for many children. Our doctors have academic appointments at New England College of Optometry and research backgrounds in myopia. They perform advanced testing, including measurements of the length of the eye, to determine the best treatment method for each child and work with families to customize the treatment plan for their child.
